The log files are essential to provide detailed information about how a custom application may be malfunctioning. If you are experiencing a specific problem that is occurring in TWS or IB Gateway and not in the API program, it is quite possible it does not occur in the more recent software build. There is no problem with staying with a version of the API and upgrading TWS, as TWS/IB Gateway are designed to be backwards compatible with older API versions. Because of this, we strongly recommend our users to keep their software as up to date as possible. ![]()
